What is a Verruca?

A verruca, or plantar wart, typically appears on the toe area or the soles of the feet due to the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), transmitted through direct contact or communal areas like swimming rooms. They often resemble small cauliflower-like growths with black dots, representing tiny blood vessels. Verrucas can cause discomfort, particularly when weight-bearing or under pressure.

Treatment of Verrucae

While verrucae can sometimes resolve on their own, due to the body recognising the presence of a virus, this can take a long period of time.

At ZP Podiatry, our expert podiatrist, assesses the verruca, keeping into account its size, location, and any associated symptoms. Based on this evaluation, our experienced podiatrist will recommend the most appropriate and suitable treatment approach tailored to your specific needs and concerns.
